A Little Late!

Last week hurricane Dolly hit land in South Texas. We were lucky enough to get some of the rains she brought with her. We live away from the coast so we didn't get any damage but the kids did get to have some fun playing in the Texas rain. After they got home from daycare I put their water shoes on them and let them play outside in the rain. They had a blast playing in the big puddles.



Car 1 also got a haircut yesterday. It is a little shorter than I wanted it to be but when he is throwing a huge fit you get what you get.

We are going to be on vacation for about a week so I will check back in then. Hope to see some of you when we are vacationing.

*Also here is a picture of my haircut. I got my hair cut and highlighted yesterday. I really like it. My hair has been pretty dark lately and I am glad that I finally got some highlights in it.

I need suggestions

I need some suggestions. My work and my family are having a luau and I need suggestions on activities and decorations. At work we are building tiki hut for all the displays and registers. We are also all dressing up in floral shirts. If you have any ideas please let me know.

A Car 1 Funny!

Car 1 needs a haircut really bad. I was asking him if he wanted another buzz cut or just a small trim. Comes up with the funniest things ever. Here is how the conversation went.

Me: Bean you need a haircut.
Him: I already had one.
Me: When?
Him: Last time you got me a haircut.
Me: Well don't you think that you should get another one?
Him: I said I already got a haircut.
Me: If you let me trim your hair in two places.
Him: I said I am not listening to you anymore.
Me: Well then I will cut Tiny's hair and I will take him to Chuck E. Cheese.
Him: I am getting mad. You can't take my brother to Chuck E. Cheese without me.
Me: All you have to do is get a haircut.
Him: That's it Mom. You made me really mad. You cannot play the computer, or games, or go upstairs. (these are things he likes to do but cannot do if he get into trouble)
Me: I don't want to go upstairs.
Him: Well then you can't go to work.
Me: You promise.
Him: I said no work for you Mom. You are in real big trouble.

He just cracks me up. I love it. I never know what will come out of his mouth next.

The BEST News Possible!!!!!

I went today to get my biopsy. I was really nervous so I asked Corey and his Dad to give me a blessing. The blessing was really nice and it helped me feel better. I had to be at the hospital at 6:45 am. When I got there it was like the hospital was closed or something, there didn't seem to be anyone around. After going here and there we ended up in the right spot. (Corey and his Mom came with me.) When it was time to go and get prepped I was getting nervous again. The nurses took really good care. The doctor came and introduced himself and explained a little about the procedure. The nurse walked me back to the room where they would find the nodule with ultra sound and do the biopsy. Once I was settled in, the radiology tech was looking for the nodule so they could numb my neck. I was still pretty nervous. The radiology tech went and got the doctor and told him he would have to take a look at "this". Well as you can imagine I was freaking out by then. The doctor was looking at the ultra sound screen and he said "Your right it is a muscle." Yes folks that is right I didn't have a nodule at all just a muscle. The doctor said that he didn't need to do the procedure anymore because it was not a mass but a muscle that was growing up and pushing on my thyroid. I was soooooo relieved. They let me get up, get dressed, and go home.

Thanks for all the prayers on my behalf I really do believe that they helped me in my time of need.

I Thought You Guys Would Like To Know

A couple of weeks ago I went to the doctor because I had a cough that would not go away. The doctor told me that my cough would get better on its own but he seemed to be concerned about something else. He told me I had an enlarged thyroid. He sent me for an ultrasound on my throat. Well the results were less than desired. I have a nodule on my thyroid. I now have to go and get a biopsy on it. This is going to happen on Thursday. They are going to find the nodule with ultrasound again and then they are going to numb my neck so they can get a tissue sample with a needle. I am pretty nerves but I am hopeful that they will not find anything more serious. A friend of mine has had this done and she says it is really not as bad as they make it sound. Also thyroid cancer is very rare and most of the time it is curable. Any way I just thought that you guys would like to know what is going on with me this week. The funny thing is the very next day my cough seemed to stop altogether.

2nd Post Today!!

We have had a couple of busy days around here. On Thursday we went to the Ringling brothers circus. It was really fun and the kids loved it. (They each had one tantrum but they're kids what can I do.) They both loved the part when the people got shot out of a cannon. The boys also LOVED the cotton candy. It was fun to watch them eat it even if they me and Corey all sticky. the circus is something that we will have to do again but we will have to save up some money first. The boys love to get the toys and snacks the circus has to offer.

We also took the boys to the "jumping place" finally. They had a blast. They ran in every direction and played on everything. They couldn't get enough of Up N Jacks. Here are some pictures of the boys playing.

Our New Pet!!

Our family went to the pet shop yesterday and got a new pet. It is a little baby guinea pig. He is so cute and sweet. His name is Lord Anomander Rake. I guess it is a character in a book. We are going to call him Rake for short. Car 1 loves his new pet. He tries to play transformers with him. Rake's fur is all crazy with tons of cowlicks. I think that is what makes him so cute.

A Car 1 Funny!

On Saturday Corey, the two boys, and I were driving around town getting stuff ready for Corey's birthday party. We drove by a fun place that has the blow-up slides and bouncy castles. My boys love this place they would go there everyday if we let them. Well Car 1 wanted to go and he started in "Can we go to the bouncy place? Can we go to the bouncy place? I want to go to the bouncy place." Corey told him we couldn't go right then but maybe another day. We were both surprised when that seemed to work. Car 1 stopped asking to go and we went on with our errands. Well at least until Car 1 realized the road we were driving on only leads one place and that is home. This is the conversation that followed.

Car 1: Where are we going.

Corey: Home.

Car 1: But I want to go to the bouncy place. (starting to cry)

Corey: I said we could go another day not today. Our ice cream is going to melt if we go there now.

Car 1: (still crying and in the saddest little voice ever) Daddy you're breaking my heart. I was going to be so happy and now you are breaking my heart.

Corey: Did he just say what I think he said?

Me: Yes I think so. I wonder where he got that from?

Corey: I'm not sure but that is the saddest thing I have ever heard.

Now every time Car 1 doesn't get his way he says you're breaking my heart in his saddest sounding voice. He didn't get to go to the bouncy place on Saturday but I am sure next weekend he just might get his way. It is a fun place and hey we have a coupon.
