Kids Say Some Funny Things!

I wanted to post some of the funny things my kids have said. I don't want to forget them and I think you guys will like them to.

Me: Carson lets go we are going to be late for school.
Carson: Mom school boring.
Me: What in the world? You are only 3 and at your school all you do is play how can that be boring?
Carson: School boring. I stay here and eat donuts and watch Nick Jr. Bye Now.
Notice what he is watching in the picture. His new thing is making funny faces.

We were driving in Dallas/Fort Worth near all of the tall buildings. Mind you there is only like 3 or 4 buildings over 2 stories in our town.
Me: Look at all the cities.
Carter: Where?
Me: Out the window.
Carson: Is that Tokyo???
How does my three year old know about Tokyo?

When we were leaving for school one day my sister-in-law was saying goodbye to her daughter. Carson love to be a part of everything.
Lindsey: Bye Bye Kaelyn.
Kaelyn: Bye
Carson: Hey stop that.
Lindsey: She is getting so big.
Carson: Oh look at her she is soooooo biiiiiig.
Me: (Laughter)
Carson: She is just sooooo sweet she melts my heart.
Really, where does he come up with this?

Carter loves to go to The Great "Foot" Lodge. I makes me laugh because he can say wolf but when he says the whole name it come out like that.

What We've Been Doing

I thought I would take a minute and post a few pictures from our recent vacation. We went to the Great Wolf Lodge. We have taken several trips there and we love it so much we keep going back. It is a great place for families. If you ever have a chance to go to one of their locations I would highly recommend it. The indoor water park makes for a fun year around destination. The boys just love the bedtime story/show in the lobby. You wear your pj's and then you get have your picture taken with Willey (the mascot).

This year while we were there we went across the street to the Gaylord Texan. They have a really neat event called ICE. This year the theme was The Grinch. They recreated tons of scenes from the original Dr Seuss book all out of ice. It was only 9 degrees in the building so they gave us parkas to wear. They even had an ice slide. I want to make going to ICE a family tradition.

Falling For Fall

I love Fall. I wish we had more of a noticeable season change here. However, I am loving the cooler weather. I can't wait until next Tuesday, I am going to take the boys to a pumpkin patch. Pumpkin patches seem like a fun fall place to go. I have also wanted to go to a corn maize.

We are having birthday week at our house right now. Carson turned 3 on Sunday and Carter is turning 5 on Wednesday. We are going to have a party on Saturday for both boys. Carter is so happy that it is almost his birthday. He has been asking since March if it was his birthday soon.

Changes

I hope you like my blogs new look. I am trying to figure out how to put a picture in my header but haven't quite got it down yet. Every time I try the picture is HUGE!!! If you have any pointers please let me know. I can't believe that it is already October. Where does the time go? I haven't posted for awhile because I think my life is pretty boring right now. Well at least with things that I want to share on my blog.

Work has been hectic the past week or so. I am glad that everything is over now. I am sad that I might have lost a friend over everything that has happened. I just don't understand everything right now.

I hope that I will have fun and happy things to post about soon. I am waiting for a vinyl template to arrive that I got here. I am way excited for it. We had some vacations planned and with everything that has happened (at work) I hope that I still get to go on them.

I hope everyone is doing well.

I took the boys to the park so they could feed the ducks. We had a great time. Carson and I both got bit by a duck. I guess we weren't throwing the bread fast enough. It was crazy, when we got out of the van the ducks all came waddling over. When we were out of bread the ducks all turned and waddled off. Carter had a blast feeding the ducks. He asks me everyday if we are going to get more bread so we can feed the ducks.

Our Trip To Houston

At the beginning of August our family took a weekend trip to Houston. We had such a good time. We spent one day going to parks and the mall and just hanging out and enjoying ourselves. The boys loved playing at the park.

We spent one day at the beach as well. This is when we lost Carson. That is the scariest thing that has happened to me so far. Carson was so sad after he was lost. I took this picture of him as he was walking back to the van.
One of the fun things about going on vacation is that you get to stay in really nice hotels. Cater loved taking baths and putting on the big robe that was in the hotel room. He would put the robe on and then lay in the middle of the bed and relax. Carson enjoyed drinking his soda out of the fancy wine glasses that they had in the room.

We spent the last day of our trip at the natural history museum in downtown Houston. It was really neat. We got to see some of the clay warriors (they wouldn't let us take pictures of them). Carson loved the animals that they had in the museum he would stand in front of them all and say "take my picture with this one." He really like the hippo for some reason.

I also wanted to include a picture of Carson's new haircut. He is really good and sits still while I cut his hair so I decided to try something new. I love it.

I miss the water!

I really miss the water. We had such a good time this summer going to the pool and to Sea World. I am sad that it is over. The worst part is that summer doesn't feel over. It has been in the high 90's or 100's still. We need rain so bad. Everything is dying because there is no rain and we are on stage 3 water restrictions. Please send us some rain. We need it so bad.

We Love Swimming!

We love to swim. It seems like all of our activities have to do with the water. We have gone to the little pool near our house, Sea World, and last weekend we went to the beach. I didn't get to take any pictures at the beach because silly me left my camera in the van. We had a really fun trip until Carson walked off while I wasn't looking. We were all so scared we couldn't find him anywhere. Good thing there are nice people in this world. Some one took him to the lifeguard stand. He was missing for about 30 minutes. I was never happier to see him.

These pictures are from one of our trips to Sea World.

My boys are such posers. I told them to smile so I could take their pictures and this is what they each did. I love it.

And you can't forget baby Mackenzie. She is getting so big.

More swimming and pictures to come.

Swimming!!!

Today I took the boys to the pool at Lyndon B. Johnson state park. They had such a good time. We went with a really good friend of mine and her grandson. There were two pools there. One was just perfect for the boys. Carter was really excited and kept saying "I'm not afraid of water." He has developed many fears lately. I am glad that water isn't one of them. When I was showing the boys pictures of the pool online Carter saw that some of the kids in the pictures had goggles and water wings and he had to have some. He looked so cute all ready to swim. I think that we will definitely go there again soon.

Carter Funny!!

Carter likes to stay up late. I mean really late. Just last night he was up playing a computer game at 3:30 am. He has been like that his whole life. I have tried getting him to change his schedule but nothing seems to work (at least not for long). In the mornings I usually just get him dressed while he sleeps. I take him to the car and drive him to daycare. I don't wake him up until we are in front of the daycare. I do the same thing for church. On Sunday he was really tired during church.

Carter: Mommy I need to go home and go to sleep.

Me: Carter we have to go to primary.

Carter: I can't.

Me: Did you stay up to late?

Carter: No mom you just woke me up too early.

He sure is smart. I also had to include the picture of him playing his favorite board game. He loves Risk. He gets that from his dad.

Adopt-A-Highway

A few months ago my boss asked us if we wanted to adopt a highway. It sounded like a good idea at the time. We adopted a 2 mile stretch of highway a short time later. Saturday was the first time that we had to clean it. Some of the people that said they would help were suddenly busy. Isn't that how it always goes? We planned to meet at the store at 7 am. To our surprise 16 people showed up to pick up trash. We split into groups and had a blast. We found some interesting things. We are already planning our next clean-up in September. Here are some pictures from that morning.Everyone getting ready.

It has been awhile!

It has been such a long time since I have posted on my blog. I have been busy but nothing that is really blog worthy.

*Lost a small diamond out of my ring.
*Got it replaced.
*Went to a wedding.
*Lost the diamond again.
*Took it back to get fixed again.
*Work, work, and more work.
*Laundry.
*Potty training my youngest son.
*More laundry.

These are the activities that have been filling my days lately. I hope that with summer coming we will have some fun things to do. I hope that the rest of you are having enough fun for both of us.

Pictures!

My boys love to get my camera and take tons of pictures. Most of them have to be deleted but I like to keep some so I can have the memories and something to show them when they get older. Here are some of my favorites. I also put in a picture of the boys that was taken at McDonald's. They get along so good sometimes and this captured the day so well.

This is a picture of my niece Mackenzie. I made the tutu and had a little photo shoot with her. I am learning how to do somethings with photoshop. So far this is my favorite thing I have done.

Happy Easter!!!

We hope eveybody had a Happy Easter. Our Easter was pretty good. I had to work from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm which means I did not get to go to church. I wasn't very happy about that but what can you do. I got home from work just in time to eat a good Easter lunch. Once the food was all gone we headed outside to hunt some Easter Eggs. The kids had a blast. This year instead of Easter baskets I decided to make the kids a personalized canvas bag. They were super easy to make and the kids love their new guitar bags.
I made a bag for two of my neices as well. If I find pictures of them I will post them later.

I Am A Subway Geek!!!

Well lately my favorite thing to eat is a veggie sub at Subway. There is a Subway within walking distance from my work so naturally I have been going there for lunch like everyday. Yesterday when it was my turn to order the boy working behind the counter (who appears to be no older than 12) asks what I want. The other girl working looks over and say "She get the same sandwich like everyday." Yes I must admit I was at the same Subway to order the same sandwich for like the third day in a row. I was pretty embarrassed. Not embarrassed enough to skip my veggie sub today when I went to lunch. Today the girl from the day before sees me and just starts making my sandwich then she looks up and say "You want your usual right?" I was embarrassed yet again. I don't know what it is about Subway right now but I am addicted. I could eat there everyday and not get tired of it.

By the way there seems to be a Subway "regular" club or something because the man behind me in line just went up the the girl and said "I'll have the usual." Also when I was walking back to work I waved the the guy that works in the store next to mine he was going to get his daily subway sandwich.

Do you have a regular restaurant where you go and get the same thing all the time? If you do I would love to hear about it so I don't feel like such a geek!

What I Have Been Doing!!

I haven't posted anything in a long time and I decided that I would catch you all up on my life. The boys and Corey are still sleeping and my computer is downloading my pictures it is the perfect time for a "What I have been doing lately" post.

We are going way back on this post because my camera and computer were unable to work together for sometime. In February my sister in law Felicia had this baby (this picture was just taken a few day ago)
Felicia had to be at the hospital at 4:30 in the morning to be induced so I offered to have Madison sleepover. This is the first sleepover that my kids have had so they were in heaven. The boys love Madison. Don't you just love this picture with three sleeping kids and all of the blankets and stuffed animals that they own.

Here is the baby blanket that I made for baby MacKenzie. I just love it. My other sister in law wanted it for her baby. When I went to get some more of the flower fabric it was gone. Sorry Lindsey.

Carson like to sleep on the couch. He sleeps so much better there so we allow it for now. One morning I woke up to find that he had fallen off the couch with his pillow, blanket, and his trusty lightsaber. This is how I found him.

The basket was full of clean clothes that I just hadn't gotten around to folding yet. Carson was sick for a few day last week. The kid loves to eat and for three days he wouldn't eat. I took him to the doctor and they said he might have a sore throat but he would get better. He did. I had to include this picture because I think he is just too cute.

Last Saturday I got to take the day off and spend it with some of my friends. We had such a good time. We attended the commitment ceremony of some friends. It was a really nice ceremony. We sat and talked and enjoyed each others company. After the ceremony and lunch we went to a book signing for a Texas singer/song writer/book author. We got our books autographed. It was funny we were just giggling like little school girls. The other people probably thought we were drunk but we weren't. We just have a ton of fun together.

Part of the gang.

The happy couple.

Robert Earl Keen

One of the antelope that have taken up residence at our ranch. There are about a dozen blackhorn antelope that are in our yard eating our grass and plants. The kids think it is cool and my mother in law, Heather hates it. She loves to garden and they just eat it all up.

I have been doing some crafts and I haven't taken any pictures of them but hopefully the winner of my feeling lucky blog post will post pictures. I have been working a lot (some things never change). I hope you feel like you have been updated on my life.
